HP LaserJet 4000 vs JetDirect card???
I need to make my old HP Laserjet 4000 work with my new computer, running off Vista. Research says I need to purchase and install a JetDirect Card. The USB converter cable does not work, all we can get to print is a garbled-mess. About JetDirect cards:
1. Will this solve my connectivity/print issues?
2. Which JetDirect do I need to purchase?
3. How easy to install is it?
4. Is there anything else you think I should know about this?

J3110A, J3111A, J3113A, J4169A, etc. will work fine.

Thank you, Jeff. The link you listed does not seem to be working right now -?- Also, when I was looking at the J3110, someone said it was for Windows NT, but not Vista. Do I need to be concerned?
Thanks so much!

corrected link above
The J3110 or any JetDirect card will work with any computer that can talk to it with the common networking protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, Appletalk, etc.) The printer and the computer are two separate devices on the network, as long as the can speak to each other you should be able to set your computer up to print to it. Vista should be able to talk to the J3110 just fine.
