Printer Spooler Service has been stopped

I'm having trouble installing my Canon MP620 printer. It keeps giving me this error message while installing the software:

"Process cannot be continued because the Print Spooler Service has been stopped. Restart the computer to start the Print Spooler service and try again."

Ive went into the services window in Administrative tools and tried restarting the service but I keep ketting the error:

" System cannot find the specified file."

Is there any way to download and rebuild the spooler service?

Hey, welcome to my club. I just had the problem on one of my PCs. I presume that when you open Printers in control panel...it's empty.

You have to delete the printer and all of its baggage if you can.
If you can't...I hope that you have a backup. If not do it to DVD and reload the OS.

I had the same problem when trying to load the software. After an hour of trying, I deleted SpyBot from my computer and the software loaded without a hitch. Perhaps you have a similar problem. Good luck,
