Default HP Laserjet 2550 Very Noisy

Does anyone have any suggestions about troubleshooting a HP Laserjet 2550 that is becoming increasingly noisier. [It sounds like a groan during printing. ] Print quality is still very good.

There are less than 9,000 printed.

The imaging drum was replaced and has about 3300 pages remaining.

    Thank you for your help.

i am not sure where that noise coming from but I'm doubting the problem occurs on the laser/scanner assy.try to replace or clean the motor inside the scanner.be careful on cleaning on the scanner,it may worsen your problem
    tnx

1.) plug directly into wall outlet dedicated only for it, not surge protector.
2.) can the printer successfully print?
3.) were the cartridges replaced recently - take out each one individually inspect and put back in
4.) make sure fuser is seated and locked in place - if noise is coming from the back
5.) If it is coming from the carousel and/or is accompanied by faded print, let me know. I'll email my service note for more troubleshooting and possible defective parts. (6 kb too big to attach)

Who's name is on the cartridges?

Remove the cartridges and try turning the gear by hand. Make sure the gear is not binding.

There are so many potential causes for the noise we really need a better description of where the noise seems to be coming from.

In order of likelihood, noise could come from the toner cartridges, fuser, toner carousel, scanner, worn-out gears ...

My suggestion would be: try to troubleshoot for the fuser & toners, if it's neither of those, I would advise your customer to either live with the noise or trash the printer ... in my experience it's often not worth a technician's time or customer's money to fix a noise problem on this color printer ...
