    Cool Laplink PCmover Essentials- Advice Needed

    Plan to use above to migrate data from Win 98 to new XP laptop. Would appreciate advice from previous user!!!

    Depends on file system used. Win 98 - NTFS, or no? If so, should be easy.
    The program may convert for you if needed.

    E-mail is in! As I said there, NTFS is network file sys. and FAT32 is standard 32 bit sys. Win 98 will have either. XP will only have NTFS.
    Program does not convert files, and may not run on both computers.
    Try a USB memory stick for small transfers to see if it will work.
