Pixma 8120 & CLI 426

Made friend get me a Pixma 8120 from Canada to Dubai cause they were not available locally. The 8120 comes with CLI 226 cartridges. The CLI 426 cartridges (available locally) are compatible with the European version i.e. Pixma 8140.

Is there a way to use the CLI 426 with the Pixma 8120 cause shipping the cartridges will cost me a lot more than it's worth.

BTW I tried this just in case it worked but it didn't

I reckon there would be physical or software differences that will precent you using them.
