8100 - Faulty registration???
Hello all,
We have an 8100 which is kind of producing the faulty registration error that is on the main site, but rather than the printed page being moved over to the left (leaving a large space on the right side of the page). the print is all the way over to the right (thus leaving massive space on the left.)
We first suspected roller issues, so replaced them all, no success. We have tested printing from each of the trays (2,3,4) and from the paper feed on the right side of the printer, all of them do the same, so I believe it is not the rollers.
Using the halfway test, and using the printers self test (configuration print), it's as if the toner unit isn't 'seeing' the page until the page is halfway through, and then the toner unit starts to print, thus missing the first third of page and leaving it blank.
Unfortunatly, there are no more toner units in our basement, and so am ordering one in, purely for testing purposes.
I'm wondering if it might be the transfer roller as the paper passes over that before hitting the toner unit.
Anyone have any ideas? I'm on the verge of taking a hammer to it!
