Thread: HP LJ 4V Jam at Fuser

  1. #1

Question HP LJ 4V Jam at Fuser

My trusty LJ 4V started jamming at the fuser, may be 1/3 of the page would appear on the exit side (output area). When I would open the little door that exposed the entry side of the fuser, I would see the remaining paper folded accordion style ahead of the fuser. I have been assuming that this was due to a fuser problem -- that something on the fuser roller was causing the jam. In my web research, I have also come across information suggesting that it could be a worn gear or gears.

My 4V has 200K pages logged, and the fuser was replaced 8 years ago at approx. 90K pages.

Does anyone have any experience/thoughts in this problem area?

If your fuser was just changed only 8 years ago, I'm assuming nothing else was changed in 8 years. Put in a maintenance kit.
    Rubber only lasts so long.

I don't have the part number handy.

What you need is the drive box for the FD assy. RG5-1396
    Also the FD roller RG5-0198
Check the front door assy.Small fold down one inside fold down tray. It has small gears that may have broken.
