Default Can't ping or connect to CP5525DN

Hi Folks, I just got a CP5525 Laserjet for home office, and can't install a print que in Windows 10 because I can't connect to the printer. Its on an Ethernet cable connected to my switch. I've verified the cable by hardwiring my laptop and then pinging it, so its good. When I try to ping it, I get nothing (destination host unreachable).

    Configuration: Manual
IP Address : 192.168.1.140 (192.168.1 is the addresses of my home network)
    Default GW : 192.168.1.140
    Subnet : 255.255.255.0

Any suggestions as to why I can't ping the printer?

    Thanks, Pragmatic740.

Make sure the ethernet cable going from the printer to the switch is connected to a port on the switch that is working. Some old Linksys switches had uplink connectors that don't behave the same as the other ports https://www.linksys.com/id/support-a...icleNum=132646 So just make sure the port on the switch you use for the printer also works with your laptop.

Check that there are no firewalls or security software blocking the connection to the printer. You may need to temporarily disable any antivirus or firewall software to test the connection.
