    Question HP LJ 4100 with error code 49.4c02

    Hp 4100 error code 49.xx is a firmware error. The suggested action is to remove the Dimm's and reinstall one at a time to find the bad one. What is a dimm and where is it located?

    Memory is located on the right hand side of the printer ... there is a plastic panel that slides off towards the back, then you will find a metal cage which houses the memory sticks ... open the cage door and you will find four memory slots ...

    Don't swap the memory DIMM with the firmware DIMM
