    Default HP1022n Spooler Problem

    Hi

I have a HP1022n. Each job i want to print gets into the queue but the printer doesn't print it. I get no error message.

It doesn't matter from which PC i want to print.
The driver is the newest one.

I hope someone can help me to solve my problem

can you print a test print?
How is the printer connected to the PCs?
Can you ping the printer from any of the PCs?

if the pc's are seeing the printer,i see this sometimes with usb and plug and play installations via the add new hardware wizard,or sometimes just with some of the newer drivers, where an older one will sometimes work.

    Red face problem holds on

    Hi there again

I am able to ping the printer.
    Its not connected via USB.

I have stopped the spooler and restarted it again.

I plugged out the network cable and restarted the printer.
Afterwards I plugged in the network cable again and wanted to print a testpage. Now the print job went trough the queue and the printer was printing BUT he just printed one vertical line accross the page.
That happend 2 times and I tried to print a test page from another PC.
That test page wasn't printed and is staying in the queue again. Since that I have the problem again.

On the other PC I tried it with an older driver, but that doesn't help me.

    I am confused

Delete the printer. Reboot the pc. Add the printer. See if it can be pinged.

By the way, how is the printer connected to the network, i.e. print server, jet direct? Have you tried resetting either of these, if that's what you are using.
External jet directs have test buttons and alot of print servers also have test buttons.

Hitting the button will cause the printer to spit out a network config page.

right;what kind of connection are you using?and on the driver properties/ports;what port is it listed as installed on?

    Default spooler

I am reaching the printer via a tcp/ip port.

I was trying to restart the spooler.
I was also looking at a helpdesk which errors can occur at the spooler. All entries at the registry are correct.

But I don't think that its a spooler problem, because I cannot print from all Pcs in my network.

But I have checked the connection to the printer.. and everything is ok. I can ping it..

    Default problem solved

    Hi there!

Thank you for your posts, but I have solved the problem now!

There was a wrong registry entry under
    hkey-local-machine\system\currentcontrolset\control\print

I have erased it and reinstalled the driver.
