New take on a P3005 noise.

I have changed the fuser 3times, all four gears in the pendulum assy., but still that damn noise!
In removing the entire fuser drive assy, and the main drive assy., I see that only one spring loaded gear runs it all. that is a Drive Release Assy. It meshes with a small gear on the main, that is notched, not toothed. It engages the DR, but it looks like it floats around too much. I will replace both and see.

Have you changed the toner cartridge? I have seen them cause some strange problems.

Oh yeah, and it too was a thought. I was right about the Drive Release Assy. It, and only it power the fuser drive. Replaced it, and the fuser drive assy, done. Purrs!.
