HP 4000 tray 2 - will not open

Hi - have a client with a HP4000 printer. Tray 2 will not open. I suspect that the the part that protects the paper feed roller in the tray was not closed properly and is preventing the tray from opening.

Any ideas on how to fix?

Use a long ruler from the back. you may be able to lower the spring loaded tray to release the paper clips at the front sides.
