Ok, I'm stumped here...
I have a Laserjet 4000tn (C4121A) that came configured with (2) 250 sheet trays. We needed to replace the Lower Paper Pickup Drive Assy. (RG5-2684-000CN). So, we removed the printer from the tray assemblies and started taking the trays apart in order to replace the part.
When we took the sheet-metal plate off of the lower cover assy. (sorry, I can't find a part number for these metal plates, but they are the big metal plates that separate the two drawers, and the sides of the paper drawers are attached to them) in order to replace the paper pick-up drive assy., there was this little white, plastic "paddle" along with a spring that is about 3/4" long that was lying on the right side of the drawer, near the "Right lower side feeder cover assy.". It somehow came loose and we can't figure out where it goes!
Let me try to describe this:
It has an axle and the diameter of the ends are different from each other (i.e., one end of the axle is about 4mm in diameter and the other end is about 3mm in dia.) Jutting off at right angles from the axle are two "paddles" or "flippers". One of them is longer than the other and it has a hook that I assume the spring would attach to.
I can't find this part on the HP diagram.
If you can help me out, that would be great! Too bad I don't have a digital camera here at work, or I'd take a picture of it...
