Greetings,

I was the happy owner of a LaserJet 2100TN, until it started printing with shadowy repetitions of text lines at intervals down the page.

A check of the posted "repeating defects ruler" indicates that the fusing film is the likely culprit, since the interval is about 3 inches.

How is this possible in a printer that is just finishing its second toner cartridge?

I want to be sure I know the problem before buying a new fuser.

Thanks,

Sean

The fuser most likely is the culprit. Take off the cover, pull it out , and look at it! Check HP's site to see if the fuser is covered under a service note. The film used would catch on something on the fuser frame, and peel off.
Also check your transfer roller, look for toner build-up on the contacts for the toner. It just might be the toner! HP? or re-mand?
