I have a hp psc 2175xi that has suddenly turned very very slow.
I have went through the owners reference guide and tried all of the
maintenance tips provided with no results, including uninstalling the
printer, rebooting computer, disconnecting printer from comp. and
trying to run it that way, the results are still the same VERY VERY
slow printing or copying. I have not tried scanning to a file as that
is just a minor use for this printer. I also ran ad-aware spy-ware
program and Norton anti-virus, no help. Also went to HP site and went
through all of there problem solving help, no help.

Called HP the rep told me it was a SOFTWARE problem in the printer as
the printer functions properly except VERY VERY slow, and for $30 a
tech would tell me how to fix it, or plug in a code or whatever needs
done.
Is there anyone on this forum who could help me with this problem?

Thanks

I am not a tech but the only thing I can think of is some of the new printers from HP have a firmware problem with the printers and it happens a lot with laser printers not sure if this would be the same with inkjets.
I had to send my customers to hp website and down load the newest patches for the firmware with each series of new printers to fix any font problems, slow printing and scanning and coping.
You might try in the search window type the model of your printer and then the word firmware it may show upgrades that you can download to fix this issue.

good luck
