I have a HP LaserJet 6P that worked just fine until I had a paper jam recently. The operator removed the jammed piece of paper, but now the paper will not feed into the printer at all. When you send a print job the printer starts up and acts like normal, except it will not pick up the paper to print on it. I have tried the secondary feed as well and the printer will not pick up the paper either way.
Any suggestions?

How many pages printed? Last time serviced? P/U roller, fuser, exit rollers all could be the problem. The PIU assy. could be bad. Any noises? Does the MP tray pick up? Roller and separation pad.

Michael - There are no unusual noises. Runs and sounds smooth as ever, just does not pick up the paper. Whether it is trying to pull from the tray at the bottom of the printer or the door that is on it to use stationary, etc . . . both ways I get the same response. Sounds and runs like normal . . . just won't pick up the paper.

Okay, thanx for that info. It is a large task to do the labor on this unit. the fuser, top cover, formatter, and ECU pan must be removed. There are two ground screws behind the formatter, and two screws at the power switch. Also pull off the three cables coming from the MP assy. to the small PCB on the ECU. Six lg. screws, and two sm. screws to remove ECU.
Two screws hold the P/U assy. on, but you may only need the roller. If just the roller, slide a flat screwdriver in the left side of the assy. to push out the shaft when putting on the roller so it seats correctly.
