Laserjet 4550 Tray issues

Hello

I have a Laserjet 4550 which continually tells me to close tray 2 properly even though it is correctly closed.This tray works fine in another printer but other trays will not work in the affected one.

Is there a simple fix for this, i.e. a sensor or clip on the underside of the printer which is causing this or is it a more problematic issue.

Any help apreciated.

How long has it been since you cleaned this unit?
Toner gets everywhere! You may be able to blow out the tray size sensor, and the paper sensor by reaching into the tray slot on the right side.
If not, then you will have to remove the formatter pan, the P\S, and the H\V P\S. Both the tray sensors are located there.
