Im sorry to be so abrut with my first question however Im desperate. Is there a way I can get my 4m to work with my new Dell Xps Gen 2 Laptop

Hopfully you have already solved this issue.
But you need to use a Win 2000 PCL driver and NOT the XP driver.
Connection? Parallel or network card?

If you have a RJ-45 connection on your laptop you can always place a crossover cable between the computer and printer via the network ports "RJ-45"

thats one way for the computer and printer to communcate dont use USB to parallel its very unrealible.
