HP Laserjet 5L/ Windows XP

My laserjet is printing the top 3/4 of the page with fuzzy letters. I have a windows XP operating system. Is this happening because they are not compatible?
The disc that came with the printer is an old floppy and it says it can't install.

Try going to www.hp.com to downloads and see if there is a driver available for XP. Download and install it and see if it helps.

No, this isn't a driver issue. Usually toner cartridge or fuser.
