I don't know if this is the place for this, but it's of interest to some??
Yesterday 1/11/06 Was working on a 4200N printer. Customer printered checks to it and nothing would happen."Ready symbol still on. You turn off the printer and back on and prints check. What happened you say. Jet Direct was bad. swapped with another and of course you have to change IP address and it worked. Another thing to look for the two lights in back. Top light was on and bottom one wasn't. I have worked on printer for 25 years and you are never to old to learn..I work for small company and am the only tech and depend on other Tech's opions sometime to make sure I on the right track..Again I'm old..

Thanks Printer Techs for having this forum and wish other would use it more.

You should check the HP website as there is a current service note on I believe its the 615N Jet Direct card. HP is is replacing them FREE of charge if they fall within a specific serial number range.

Personally I wouldnt trust any Jetdirect EIO newer than the 610N

Because these newer ones have more problems than they are worth.

Again thats my views.

If you can obtain a new one from HP then go for it.
