I have a perplexing issue with an HP Laserjet 4000. The manual feed tray (tray1) isn't functioning properly. If you load it with paper, it pulls through several blank sheets and will not pull any more paper. The tray continues to try to pick up paper. If you power off the printer and then back on, while the printer is self checking, tray 1 continues to try to pick up paper. The only way to resolve this is to pull the power from the printer and leave it unplugged for several hours or more. The printer will work ok for a day or so, but then begins its irrational behavior again. We have checked all the sensors for tray 1 and they are intact and functional. I am becoming concerned that it might be the controller board malfunctioning, but I am not sure. Any advice or suggestions are welcome! Thanks in Advance!!
