HP LaserJet 4mPlus Jams

My LaserJet 4mPlus is about 10 years old. It has been great and I prefer to refurbish due to money limits.

The printer jams frequently, but not all of the time. Most of the printed page makes it through the printer and almost to the exit tray. When I clear the jam, the printed page is perfect except for the bottom inch or so. This portion is badly wrinkledand obviously part of the jam.

I have dissambled cleaned and reassembled and noticed no obvious problem. Still the problem persists.

Any ideas?

You need an upper exit roller.These are pretty easy to replace.Good luck.

Thanks, I just ordered a kit off ebay.

I received and installed the rollers. The new upper roller included gray tabs distributed along the roller. The old roller did not. All appears to work, but the gray tabs do not seem to add anything, unless the installation is incorrect. Any comments?
