HP LaserJet 5M & Ghosting Problem

Hi,
I have a Laserjet 5M printer that creates a ghost image on every page that I print. I inherited this printer from my job, therefore I'm resposible for it's maint. I've tried several new cartridges, to no avail. Is the fuser causing this? If so, are they expesive?

Yes, it's probably the fuser if you tried several toner cartridges. They should cost less than an OEM toner cartridge.

You should clean the toner cartridge contacts.
The problem could also be the DC controller.
