Hi,

i have looked at a customers phaser 8400 that is printing a ghosted image on the right side of the page. The problem seems to be that the stripper blade isn't scraping off the previous job from the drum, therefore leaving a ghosted image on the page.
I have previously replaced the stripper blade and ths seemed to the the trick but 2 weeks on the problem has returned.

Can anybody help on this one??

Thanks

Good try on the blade, but have you ran any diags?
Several adjustments can be done at the control panel. Also, replace maintenence tray if very dirty. Counter can still be used if over 25%.
Print usage pages to get this info.

Checkout Xerox's Service Bulletin #657.

A cracked or broken pivot plate. on either the left or right causes poor ink transfixing and poor print quality. Due to the plate not pushing the maint unit forward enough to provide sufficient oiling of the drum. This will result in a dropout smear or ghosting on either side. The orginal pivot plate is white and the newer one is black. and xerox is supposely extending the warranty or the orginal plate for all printers

Good Luck and hope this helps
