HP 970 Cse Exit jam

Got a 970 that does not let the printed copy fall all the way out resulting in a following sheet jam. Any suggestions? Great forum BTW

Its an issue with the gearing on the left side. pulling jammed paper out can strip gears, out of position to operate the paper kicker. You have to just try several positions until it gets right. Also, the encoder disc may be bad.
