I have a 4100 that has a repeat defect that is exactly 3 inches on center. I did not see a repeat value that matched this but I am wondering if the there is a little fudge factor in the rule. If so I presume the error is in the Fuser. Are the Hot Roller, Tray Feed Roller and Separation Roller all in the Fuser? How do I tell which one need to be replaced, or is there a way of cleaning it?

The tray feed roller and the separation rollers are NOT related to the fuser.
As far as your 3" repeat defect, the nearest value to this is 2 15/16" of the fuser hot roller

That's what I was thinking. Is the fuser hot roller a replaceable item or is it a matter of cleaning it?

You need to replace the entire fuser

Hey for future reference here is the ruler for the 4100. Match it up to the defects happening. Its located on this site and they have them for a few printers.
