usb print server for laserjet 1000

I purchased a linksys usb print server to use with a hp laserjet 1000. In our office we have several of these print servers working with various laserjets, but it doesn't seem to want to cooperate with the laserjet 1000. After I set it up, I can see it from other computers, but can't actually print to it.

Does anyone know of a usb print server device that will work with the laserjet 1000.
