HP4000 groaning noise

Hi,

I have had a look at a customers machine and it seems to be a real nightmare. I am getting a groaning noise coming from the 500 sheet tray area. I have tried removing some iron filings from the roller clutch, a new clutch, new rollers and even a new tray.
The problem is still there.... where am i going wrong?
The problem is only from tray 4 and not with the other trays.

It could be the gears of the Pick up assembly, check to see if the white gear that is visible can be moved than 1-2mm, if so it will need replacing.
