A customer of ours bought four HP LJ 4350 printers for the primary purpose of printing envelopes on a daily basis. All of the printers are crinkling the envelope on the trailing edge as it comes out the top of the printer. Even if you print them straight out the back. The envelopes leave the envelope feeder ok, go thru the registration and as soon as it hits the fuser, it begins to press down on the envelope and crinkles it on the end. Air inside the envelopes I guess. I tried new envelopes with same but not as bad a problem. I configured the printer for various types of media, card, rough etc, same problem. Changed the heat setting on fuser, same problem. There is no mechanical setting on the fuser to seperate the rollers as in some other models. I tried replacing the fuser but it is the same. Is this a defect in the design of these printers? Also, the same envelopes work just fine in any LJ 4 plus or Lj 5 printers so theoretically, they should work in the 4350. Any help would be appreciated. HP doesnt have an answer except to say try different envelopes.
