Blinking light on HP1200

Have a HP 1200 whihc has recently had (less than 1000 copies ago) toner/drum unit fitted. Has printered perfectly up until very recently when a smaller black market would intermitantly appear on the paper near the top left corner.

Now the printer won't print at all ... powers up ok and after warm up the orange light near the 'go' button flashes continuously.

What might be the cause and fix for this problem?
