Change 5P into 5MP?

I have both a 5P and 5MP. Can I take and swap memory modules or something between them to make the 5P (known good mechanical) into a 5MP? The 5MP I have has unknown mechanical history. In other words, are the only differences between them are one or more SIMMs?

You only have to switch the formatter cage w\formatter of course. What makes it an MP is the din plug for Macs.Plus you need a postscript dimm.
