LaserJet 4 printing jibberish

I have a LaserJet 4 printing out one line of jibberish after having installed it locally on a "new" workstation on our network. It has run successfully on others. Is there a way to hard reset this printer? Thanks for any help!

Drivers!!! You might be using a PS driver, or your PCL driver is corrupt.

I've installed/reinstalled the driver that came with the OS (WinXP), have uninstalled and installed driver from HP site and still no luck.

Are you using a JetDirect card? If so you might try re-creating the printer port pointing to its IP.

No, it's using parrallel port

Usually drivers are out of spec or not for use with certain version of XP, last rersort is formatter or engine controller

I just moved the printer to another machine with the identical setup and is working fine. Imagine that.
