Hi, i have rx600 and the following worked for me...

Power, Load/Eject, Stop, B&W, Color...
Continue to hold the buttons until "Init Eeprom" appears on the printer screen Press Color button to clear protection counter.

Hi,
I have a similar problem with my R200, when I contacted epson was told it was a hardware problem that needed sending to an Epson Sevice centre to be repaired , but I went onto ebay and found a solution and the reason for it ,they have programmed the chips to put out false information.Another instance of them "ripping " customers off. Apparently if you have access to ebay you can purchase a "service cd" or there are cheaper methods of payin 0.99 for a download that is "freeware that will solve the problem. I am thinking of writing to epson telling them I am reporting them to the Trading Standards. If you look at the adverts on ebay it explains in detail what epson are up to.
