I have a Laserjet 4m Plus that will not print at 600 dpi no matter what I seem to do. The printer is set to default to 600 dpi. At least that is what I assume MENU -> JOB MENU -> RESOLUTION=600* means.
It happens from both Windows and Linux. The same machines print 600 dpi on other LJ 4m Plus' around the offices.
There are no error codes.
From the MIO section of the test page it says it has a Jetdirect J2552B network card in it with revision A.08.40.
There is a firmware datecode of 19931201 on the test page also.
Is there a place where I can get the latest and greatest firmware for this thing? I've searched my eyes crossed on HP's web site.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks
EO
