Recently received a "Perform Printer Maintenance" on message window. Have never seen it before. What are ramifications if maintenance not done? My employer wants to know if $300+ price tag for kit is worth paying for this older printer which gets fairly heavy usage. Thanks.

Message means you've come to the end of the life expectancy of the fuser unit and feed rollers. Shop around for the kit, you might find it less expensive other places!

Definitely worth getting a maintenance kit. A new printer of comperable build quality will cost over $1000 (e.g. LJ 4250N)

Thanks. I needed confirmation on what I thought we should do.

Wait a minute!
The printer maintenance is done by the operator in most cases. The cost of a maintenance kit for that printer is less than 1/3 the cost of a new printer. If you are going to toss your printer, toss it to me!
