View Full Version : HP 1100A Scanner Problem

I've tried the most recent drivers from the website, including the scanner upgrade utility and the 1100A updates, but the scanner is not recognized. Printing and copying work fine. I tried the original disk with files from 2000, but the printer would not even print, so I reinstalled the most recent HP drivers. When I open the toolbox and attempt scanner calibration, I get a problem communicating with the scanner message. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Bob

Have you tried reseating the scanner?

Installing the OCR software from the HP factory disk, not from HP's website, and selecting Bi-Directional only in the BIOS.

I didn't realize that it was a test!

Could be an IP problem
Install the scanner first then the printer
The scanners sometimes only come with default IP address as the number 7
The printer can use two IP addresses 7 and any other that is free
Seen it before and reinstalled scanner first
and it worked.
Good luck
