HP 4100 time out issue!!!!

Hi, We are having a HP4100 time out problem , happening on a network that has direct print via IP address on ther network. ( ie no print server)
This has happened to a few of these machines - any ideas?

If its happening on several of their printers... at the same time.. then they may have some networking problems...

You could try and increase the time out and see if that helps at all.

For testing, I would take a printer and a computer and put them on their own hub and see how they react. If all is good, then put a combination that you know has probs on the hub and see if that fixes the problem.

If so, then there is definitely a network problem. Maybe a worm taking up the bandwidth.

The point is, you said that it happens on several printers and workstations. If it was just one then the prob would point more to the printer than anything else.
