I'm working on a 400 that I recently installed a roller kit in.

The reported problem was that the paper wouldn't feed and got jammed or timed out.

After the roller kit, I did a test print and the print is too light.

I guess it was light before the paper problem but no one said anything about that.

I've pulled the laser compartment out and cleaned the prism, rotary mirror, and mirror strip.

I tried different density settings and toner cartridges.

Still... the test page comes out like it is in draft mode.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Jay

If you want to post a photo of the defect it might help.

Normally we would blame light print on faulty toner cartridges; if the cartridges are aftermarket brand then I could see 2 sets in a row printing light. Sometimes it's just the Black cartridge failing, as it mixes with other colors to provide darker tones.

One other possibility is a failure with the transfer belt.
