I have an HPp4015 that wont duplex. The first page goes back into the duplexer to be printed and stops. I have replaced , fuser, duplexer, formatter, and performed a cold reset. It is also slow to start the feed cycle.

I wonder if the solenoids are sticking for the main cassette tray. Try feeding a duplex page from the bypass tray and see if the jam goes away.

You're correct Steve..It will duplex loading from the bypass tray #1.. Now where are the solenoids you speak of. The paper feeds fine from the main cassette tray for single sided print ?

If you remove the top cover and the right side cover, you will find the solenoid located on the right side of the printer, tucked away near the gear drive assembly. There is 1 screw that holds it in place, and 1 plug.

Here's a link to a replacement solenoid : http://www.printertechs.com/shop/tray-2-paper-pickup-solenoid-for-hp-laserjet-4200-4300-4250-4350-4240-4345-p4014-p4015-p4515-m601-m602-m603

It wasn't the solenoid as it picks the paper fine for single sided operation..the culprit was the exit delivery unit..Thanks for your input
