I need HELP. I am using some Dye sub printers.
In order to use print pooling select the first printer, go into properties, ports, enable print pooling and select the second printer. Works perfectly....until the next time. Same computer, same printers, same ports. Won't work.
After I select print pooling the printers are shown on the same port instead of separate ports in the ports tab.
As mentioned above, I am using the same USB each time. Printers are identical, they have the same drivers.
These are not on a server so I cannot assign a TCPIP address. The printer does not give me that option.
The next time I get reads to use the pooling the virtual printer port shows the 2 printers I selected on the same port. When I try to send a test print, it sends the test to the same printer, regardless of the printer or USB it is plugged into or the printerI have set as the default. (IE - printer 1 and printer 2 - the print job goes to printer 2 each time). And it will not print pool any longer.
How do I get it to either hold the print pooling, or turn it off without having to completely uninstall and reinstall the driver? This is on Windows 7. Both printers are identical.
Today, when I was trying to figure it out, it seemed like if I continue to use the pooling port that has several printers listed, it keep the pooling.
I have tried using this with and without 3rd party print software. Thank you.
These videos show the process I followed.
