I think you are talking about the curved plastic arm that connects the cover to the mechanism that connects and disconnects the white plastic link that drives the toner cartridge. This plastic piece is fragile. To re-attach the lower end you will have to remove the right side cover and the control panel to get at it. If you have not done so yet download the Service Manual and it will show you how to do this. You will need the service manual to clear the jam in your second post.

Al,
Thanks I have the arm attached and the white knob moves to the left but now I am encountering an earlier unknown issue. The printer starts, intializes and then displays checking printer while printing blank pages. It does this until a jam occurs and does not seem to stop. There is no print job and I have doscoinnected it from my computer.
What is going on?
Thanks,

AL,
Some additional info. Seems I can load paper fromn TRAY 1 and print but there can be no paper in Tray 2 . I get to Ready state. If I load Tray 2 and attempt to print the Menu Map , I get error I think 41.5. Seems like there us an issue with printing from Tray 2 but I don't see an obstruction.

Okay now the 41.5 error is gone as I cleaned and reset the roller in paper tray 2. I did a paper path test and it was fine as well as printed a Menu Map and a Configuration from Tray 2 but I still have this issue of "Checking Printer" during startup where it prints blank pages.
