LJ 4250 Top Cover Arm stuck

I just finished replacing the swing plate assembly in a LJ 4250. Got everything put back together fine except the arm that connects to the top cover. It is stuck/jambed in a raised position and will not go down. I have tried to force it a bit but do not want to force it too hard as I do not want to break something.

Anyone have any ideas on what I need to do to get it functioning again?

I have seen this when working on the older printers. The cam that carries that arm gets rotated too far and jams. You may be able to use a long thin screwdriver and try to gently turn the cam back where it belongs. Failing that you may have to remove the top and or side cover to get at it. You are right about not forcing it.
