Thanks in advance for ready this.
My daughter just finished her first year of college but before she could get through the year her new HP LJ 1300 gave out with a paper feed issue. When a document is sent to the printer it makes a loud clicking sound for several seconds but never picks up the paper from the tray and finally gives up with an error. The problem is obviously mechanical in nature but I just wondered if we were the only ones who've run into this. Is this a common issue for this printer with such low usage? As and old engineer I've worked with a lot of printers but have never seen a problem quite like this.
PS. This is the second HP to quit on me with low usage. I have an HP Laserjet 5L that refuses to reqognize paper in the tray.
I have always been big on HP printers but I'm beginning to have second thoughts. :-(
