My trusty BJ10e stopped working after a paper jam. May have jumped a few teeth on the gears while extracting the paper. No sign of gear damage .The power, online, error and paper lights stay on with continuous beep. Any idea how to fix this or fix a BJ10ex which I was given but will not power up using the psu from the BJ10e.

Despite all advances this printer is ideally suited to my portable needs so I do not want to scrap it. Thanks DF

There should be a pattern as to which LED blinks and how many times it blinks. This number will give you the diagnostic code (check it at canon.com).
From your description, however, you will probably have to take it in for repair as it could be a problem with the paper feed/ purge unit drive. I no longer work for a Canon service centre, so I don't have access to any manuals.l
