Laserjet 4L printer lights don't come on

My laserjet 4L printer worked fine when I hooked it up to a new Dell computer. One day I unplugged the printer, took it to work, hooked it up to a laptop and it worked fine. Took it home. Plugged it back in to the Dell and the lights haven't come on. Have tried different outlet, usb port, etc. and nothing works. Any suggestions?

It is possible that the static discharge from connecting and disconnecting the printer could cause the circuit inside to be damaged. This is pretty rare, but possible. About all I can think of.

I dont think its static its a case of the power supply decided not to work, nothing would he would done to cause this, the printer died at its own accord.
