I have a 2420 that jammed on one of our users and after the paper was removed, it won't let the cartridge sit properly. After a little snooping around I found this white part sticking out, I believe it needs to be recessed and I'm not sure how to get it back to its proper position. Please see pic attached.173
Thanks for any feedback you can provide.

That part is the coupling that provides mechanical power to the toner cartridge. When you raise the cover there is a curved plastic
piece that retracts that white coupling so the cartridge can be removed. If the plastic piece is broken or disconnected then that
coupling will remain poking out as if the toner cartridge was still there. Open the cover and look straight down on the right side
and you should see a white plastic lever protruding from the printer hooked into the bottom of the gray cover. I suspect they forced
the cover down and broke that rod. I never had to replace that part on a 2420. It may just be disconnected from the door. It
looks like the part number is: RC1-4116-000CN, Lever, drive release, page 232 item # 13, but I am not sure about that. The
IPB on this printer leaves a lot to be desired. If you need a book you can download one from the Internet for free. Pull on the lever
and you should see the coupling retract out of the way. Sorry, I looked at your illustration and it shows that lever right below
the #3.

Thanks! I don't know what they did it to but I will look at that area again later. I saw that white lever as I was reading your post.

That was the culprit Big Al! The white part got dislodged from its position, just popped it back in. I had to use a paper clip to reach for it though. I attached a pic for future reference to whoever might be searching for the same question. I've seen one posted question like this but there was no solution.
