I just upgraded the memory on my HP LaserJet 5P to the maximum (3 units of 16 = 48 + 2 onboard = 50MB total). I used the HP website to guide me through this, but their last step calls for me to "Update your Windows printer driver to reflect the total amount of memory installed". Not knowing what that meant, I highlighted my printer, clicked "Properties", "Installable Options", "Printer Memory". Unfortunately, "Printer Memory" is a drop-down box and the maximum you can choose is 26MB. Does anyone know why that is? How do you get it to see 50MB? I can't find anything on this anywhere!
I just downloaded the latest XP printer driver and that doesn't change anything... Thanks to anyone who can help.
