Stuck paper cassette

In my HP LaserJet 4 Plus the paper cassette drawer is stuck. It comes out about 1/2 inch then something jams it. Does not sound like paper is the cause it sounds like metal or plastic.

Try removing the back cover and look into the tray from that end. You might be able see something from that end.
What does the printer do when you turn it on? Does it sound normal as it come up, does it go READY? Will it print
from tray one?

Thank you Big Al Solved!

From where it sits I had to put it on a higher surface to get a good look at it from the back. In doing so I pushed from the back side of the paper tray and to my surprise it pushed out the front. So I'm not sure what was wrong.

It always worked and printed but it would eventually have run out of paper.
