I need a parts breakdown of the mechanism on the lower right side that opens the drum shutters. I have a broken piece that is allowing the drum shutters to open only half way. Thanks!

Right side slide lever is probably what you need. Those have a piece of plastic that breaks off that prevents the mechanism from opening the shutters. You should replace the cart locks too while you are at it. I don't have the part numbers handy, but if noone else comes to your aid you can google it. That's an extremely common problem with those. If you don't find anything, change the model to either a 3600 or 3800. They are all basically the same thing and the part #'s are the same for all three models.

These are common to break -- we carry both the slide lever and cartridge lock kit at PrinterTechs, call us if needed @ 866-352-7108.

By the way, replacing the cartridge lock kit is considered a fairly major repair. This install is sometimes more work than folks want to do themselves. Disassembly is fairly straightforward, but re-install is where things can get hairy as you need to follow the instructions very closely to get the timing correct and align the gears perfectly. If it's your first time and you follow the instructions closely, I would allow yourself 1-2 hours for these repairs.

Thanks for the replies but I have one more question. Do I need to remove the main drive assembly to replace the cartride lock lever because I
physically cannot see anything broken from the outside of the main drive assembly.

Yes. I think you can actually see the broken piece if you remove two screw on a metal piece a little below the main drive assembly and pull it back an inch or two, but if you don't know what it's supposed to look like you probably wouldn't realize it was broken. Make sure you have good instructions for putting the main drive assembly back in. There are a few gears that have to be in the correct position before you put it back on.
