Has lots of vibration when on, gear grinding noise on startup and only prints 4-6 pages before it stops printing and requires you to press the "Check" green button.
Any suggestions?

Likely two seperate issues. The vibration/noise typically occurs after the fuser is replaced. There are four gears behind the fuser that should be replaced when the fuser is replaced, failure to do so will result in the vibration you describe because you have a worn gear meshing with a brand new unworn gear.

As for the other issue, what does it say on the display when you have to press the checkmark button? Usually having to do that is the result of a job requesting a different type of paper than what the printer is loaded with, and the fix is to set the tray paper type to 'ANY'.

Here's a note about those gears ridered mentioned: http://www.printertechs.com/tech/mkinst/P3005/mk-p3005-8gearkit.php

If you change the fuser and this set of 4 gears, the noise should disappear. It's a common problem on this model.

Good idea to clean the shafts that the gears rotate on, then lube the shafts, the bore of the gear, and the gear teeth with Chemplex 710 grease.
We get ours from Lmoreau@zoominternet.net, 336-764-5232.

This helps the gears last a lot longer and run quieter.

I asked about this and everybody went blank on me....Couldn't get any history of what has been done to this printer.

That's pretty typical. Why read the display when you can just press the button and get a page to come out. Unless customers have an optional tray with different type paper loaded, I always set the paper type to ANY just to avoid issues like this.
